Breath of the Wild‘s sequel will be called Tears of the Kingdom. Find out what else Nintendo announced right now.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Title Announcement
The biggest announcement by far was the sequel title and footage to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Tears of the Kingdom features a long pan up on a cave/temple wall showing us characters etched in stone from the series before showing Link opening up a door and exploring more of Hyrule. The sad news is that any hope of getting Zelda this year were dashed, the sequel won’t release until May 12th, 2023.
Also, I’m actually glad that they didn’t keep the previous title in the naming because The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Tears of the Kingdom would have been a mouth full lol.
Fire Emblem Engage Pulls Some Heroes Inspiration
Featuring a new character Alear, who is charged with bringing peace back to the Kingdom and presumably merging and fighting with other Emblems from the previous entries in the series, has been a sleep nearly a hundred years after the defeat of the Fell Dragon from Fire Emblem Awakening (released on the Nintendo DS) and will pick up where he awakens.
Check out the “engage” mechanic featured in the video and we’ll discuss more about it when we get our hands on the game this January.
Pikmin 4 Announcement Trailer
While we didn’t get a ton of information or a release date for this announcement, it’s nice to see this is on the radar and continue the fun adventures of Olimar and crew.
Octopath Traveler 2 Announcement
One of my favorite series on the Switch has received a sequel update. If you love rich RPG storylines that are familiar to the classic SNES RPGs or PS1 era RPGS, Octopath is definitely the series for you.
While the sequel isn’t a continuation of the same characters (as far as we know right now), you’ll get to travel around Solista with a new group of heroes and explore the new type of immersive storyline. Traveler 2 is expected to release a non-exclusive with releases on the PS4, PS5 and PC along with the Switch on February 24th, 2023.
